Wells Fargo’s Community Mural program celebrated the history of the neighborhoods its branches served. The murals brought local people, places, and events into the branches, giving customers a starting point for questions and conversations about their community.
My role
I designed the murals and their keys, working with researchers who developed the narratives and gathered the archival imagery. Project managers provided specifications for each location. I selected and composed images within those requirements, then handled color proofing and correction, detailed production and installation documents, and oversight of the final installation.
Mural keys
Every mural I designed included a companion key showing the original archival photographs with captions written by the researcher. It gave viewers a way to learn more about the images in the mural.
